Playing by the Rules
The following list outlines the levels of regulation that safeguard our environment, as well as our conformance to them.
Newco Metal &Auto Recycling holds a Certificate of Approval (COA)for permanent and mobile operations from the Pollution Prevention Division of the provincial Department of Environment and Conservation. (Approval #: WMS-09-09-009)
In support of its COA, Newco complies with all of the following:
- Provincial Air Pollution Control Regulations 2004
- Used Oil Control Regulations
- Provincial & Federal Environmental Protection Acts (EPA)
- Interprovincial Movement of Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Recyclables Regulations
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations
Current Existing Environmental Certificates require the following levels of compliance:
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training for Newco employees
- Baseline Environmental Assessment for Commercial/ Industrial property
- Operations Plan; Emergency Response Plan; Decommissioning Plan
- Surety bond
- Commercial General Liability insurance; Automobile insurance; Contractors Pollution Liability insurance; and Pollution Legal Liability insurance
